It s kind of joke among my family and friends how much I tune out the world around me and laser focus on whatever I m doing (typically art of course). I get such a chuckle creating characters in my work that have the same deficiency. In this painting, I created the Santa gnome to be so laser focused on decorating the light pole that he s not even realizing that he s about to topple over, along with all the gifts! Of course his elf could warn him, but he s oblivious too!
